Thanks For Giving

COSTA MESA, Calif. – November 24, 2021 – The Charitable Foundation, run by real estate agents at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, is proud to announce its "Thanks For Giving" Gala generated $27,000 in donations for local nonprofits Laura’s House and Semper Fi & America’s Fund.

Hosted November 11 at the Center Club Orange County in Costa Mesa from 6-10 p.m., the evening's buzzing agenda included a silent and live auction, sponsored by myNHD, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, Pickford Escrow and The Escrow Firm, Prosperity Home Mortgage, Hartmann Law Firm, US Bank, Accurate Termite, LoansDirect, 1st Stryke Pest Control, and other local businesses.

"We were humbled by the support in our community, and are so thankful to be able to help struggling folks this holiday season," said Darlene Simmons, REALTOR® and President of The Charitable Foundation's Orange County board. "Additionally, we wanted to thank our Orange County agents, staff, and managers for donating to the office baskets!"

The evening's donations will benefit Orange County recipients in Laura's House and Semper Fi & America's Fund. Laura's House provides domestic violence-related support and resources to the residents of Orange County and beyond. For decades, Laura’s House has provided shelter and supportive services to more than 5,000 abused women, men and children, among them counseling, life skills education, and legal advocacy. Today, Laura’s House continues to be the only state-approved comprehensive domestic violence agency in South Orange County.

Semper Fi & America's Fund provides necessary resources and lifetime support for combat-wounded, critically ill, and injured service members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Case managers work one-on-one with service members and Veterans to tailor their individual needs for the present and the future.
