How we make An Impact

Since its inception more than 20 years ago, The Charitable Foundation has awarded more than 1000 grants totaling over $5 Million to local organizations that promote health, education, community, and the environment.

Health

Our grants support local nonprofits that promote physical, emotional, and mental health. Many of our grantees work to provide proper shelter, access to medical care, caregiver support, healthy living options, social engagement, and stress management to a wide range of people in an effort to promote wellness and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Community

Our grants help underserved children, youth, disabled individuals, veterans, the elderly, those who are homeless, those who have suffered abuse, and those who are food insecure so that they may receive much-needed services and support.

Environment

Our grants support organizations that help protect, preserve, and restore beaches, rivers, oceans, wildlife habitats, and parks. We also support local nonprofits that strive to improve air quality by planting trees and native plants. Our members frequently volunteer for cleanups in our communities. In times of catastrophic events, we’ve also contributed funds to wildfire and flood relief efforts.

Education

Our grants help facilitate learning, teaching, training, and storytelling. We support nonprofits that help people learn new skills that equip them to be successful in work and in life. We also provide funding to organizations that bring art, music, dance, and theatre to local communities.

  • “Having been a Board Member for the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station (WFFS), I have had the opportunity to work with The Charitable Foundation (CF) on numerous occasions over the past three years. The Charitable Foundation is a “Top Notch” organization. The Charitable Foundation is a foundation that demonstrates on a daily basis the desire to be a community player in San Diego. They provide grants to many needy organizations in the San Diego area.”

  • “Thank you for you generous gift to Children of the Night. Carl Bard, noted author and broadcaster, once said, “Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”. Together we have provided a new start for children who have suffered from the ravages of prostitution right here in America. Many of these children will be returned to a normal life because of the work we do with your help! I trust you will share in the pride that we all feel here in the Children of the Night shelter home when we help these children recover from their tortured pasts. We could not do the work we do without you. And on behalf of them and me, thank you for making their successful adult lives possible. ”

Dr. Lois Lee (Founder and President)
  • “I am writing with reference to the generous donation you gave our students earlier this year. We were overwhelmed by the generosity you showed students who may never have had the opportunity to participate in a fieldtrip. We teach Special Education and as you can imagine, many of my students feel they are not worthy of receiving anything of this magnitude. My co-teacher Mr. Bradley Romo and I would really like to extend our warmest thanks to you all; we are not sure you will ever fully understand what a difference this donation made to the lives of these students. We just wish that the other companies were so generous and could help children in need achieve things they had only ever dreamed of.”

  • “Thank you for your generous donation in support of the fire relief effort FFCC is engaged in throughout North County. To date FFCC has supported over 300 destroyed homes by sift through ash, removing debris, cutting down trees, relocating families, finding and delivering furniture, etc. FFCC has also given away over 500 dinner meals to the fire relief effort. Every weekend FFCC continues to offer our services and provide volunteer support to help with this ongoing work. FFCC partners directly with the Rebuild Escondido, Rebuild RB and Rebuild Ramona. Your donation will allow us to continue this much needed effort. Thanks again for your confidence in our work and for partnering with us to get it done. What a blessing.”

Phil Harris (Director, Friends & Family)

Thank you so much for your donation in support of our work with the October Southern California Wildfires.
