The Warrior Foundation Freedom Station

testem-a Having been a Board Member for the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station (WFFS), I have had the opportunity to work with the Charitable Foundation (CF) on numerous occasions over the past three years. The CF is a “Top Notch” organization. The CF is a foundation that demonstrates on a daily basis the desire to be a community player in San Diego. They provide grants to many needy organizations in the San Diego area. The CF seeing an opportunity to assist the returning injured warriors and other Veterans in the San Diego area, seized that opportunity and developed an annual program to ensure the WFFS continually had sufficient funds to get our injured warriors home for the holidays. The CF demonstrates that they are a hand up and not just another organization that provides handouts. I commend the CF for its fortitude, foresight and caring to ensure our Veterans and Injure Warriors get the care and other amenities they deserve to ensure their recovery is quick and their reintroduction back into society is smooth and pain free.

Children of the Night

Thank you for you generous gift to Children of the Night. Carl Bard, noted author and broadcaster, once said, “Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”. Together we have provided a new start for children who have suffered from the ravages of prostitution right here in America. Many of these children will be returned to a normal life because of the work we do with your help! I trust you will share in the pride that we all feel here in the Children of the Night shelter home when we help these children recover from their tortured pasts. We could not do the work we do without you. And on behalf of them and me, thank you for making their successful adult lives possible.
With sincere appreciation I remain sincerely yours, Dr. Lois Lee – Founder and President

Los Angeles Senior High School

I am writing with reference to the generous donation you gave our students earlier this year. We were overwhelmed by the generosity you showed students who may never have had the opportunity to participate in a fieldtrip. We teach Special Education and as you can imagine, many of my students feel they are not worthy of receiving anything of this magnitude. My co-teacher Mr. Bradley Romo and I would really like to extend our warmest thanks to you all; we are not sure you will ever fully understand what a difference this donation made to the lives of these students. We just wish that the other companies were so generous and could help children in need achieve things they had only ever dreamed of.
Yours Sincerely, Mrs. Kerrie Egerton – Special Education Teacher – Los Angeles High School

Canine Companions for Independence

My CCI Service Dog Pakuna has brought me nothing but joy, strength, courage, and a deeper sense of interdependence. I knew the physical and emotional benefits of having an assistance dog, but I cannot begin to describe all of the intangible ways in which Pakuna enriches me. Far beyond the obviousl assistance of opening doors and retrieving dropped objects, Pakuna promises the purpose I chase. He reminds me that each day afford us the opportunity to reach beyond ourselves. Thanks for the generous contribution to Canine Companions for Independence! – Canine Companions for Independence
